We have a Food Service Director position available for a boarding school in Chatham, VA. The food service includes all daily meals (7 days a week) as well as any additional catering at the location.

The Director must have a passion for people and food. The Candidate will have a CAN DO!! attitude, strong communication skills, high energy and enthusiasm. The best candidate will enjoy current food trends, and have nutritional and wellness awareness as well as extensive food production experience. In addition, the ideal employee will have great skills: people, planning, organizational, computer, and customer service.

This is a “hands on” chef position. The Director MUST have extensive experience with retail food service operations and upscale catering.

Job responsibilities:
-preparing all food served
-managing the culinary team
-demonstrate exemplary customer service skills
-recruit and train the hourly team
-create menus
-implement and maintain HACCP standards
-develop client and customer relationships
-deliver fabulous catering results
-communicate clearly, professionally and effectively
-deliver budgeted financial results
-impress clients with an outstanding catering program

-manage ordering and inventory
-manage all cash handling

-at least 5 years of prior management experience, educational setting preferred but not required
