Americans have become very concerned about health, fitness, and nutrition. SAGEs response to these concerns is The Spice of Life® program. There are three aspects to our Wellness Program: Heart Healthy Menus, Dietitian Support, and Nutrition Education. All of SAGEs menus reflect our deep commitment to a healthy approach toward nutrition. Each day, we offer meatless selections, an extensive salad bar, and fresh fruit. We stir-fry vegetables and offer stir-fry entrees regularly. We serve light breads and salad dressings at all meals. We offer oat bran, wheat, and raisin bran cereals at breakfast. To encourage the use of healthful seasonings, we provide an array of herbs in shakers at the salad bars as an alternative to salt. We plan our menus to recognize and promote special nutritional awareness days, such as National Heart Month. SAGE employs dieticians who can visit to discuss nutritional needs with you. Behind the scenes, they are involved in reviewing menus, overseeing specific dietary programs developed for those on physician-restricted diets, and gathering nutritional information for our nutritional displays. In our dining rooms we periodically display a table featuring The Spice of Life® printed educational materials on nutrition and health from our corporate dietitians. At SAGE, we believe that good nutrition is The Spice of Life®. |
