Food Service Director ~ Private Day School ~ Beautiful Campus

SAGE Dining Services Canada is seeking a Food Service Director for a gorgeous independent boarding school on Victoria Island, British Columbia.

The Food Service Director manages ALL of the food service needs on the campus.  The director should have Food Safe Handling experience as well as HACCP.  The director is responsible for all administrative paperwork including payroll, ordering and inventory, assembling menus and working with catering events. The best candidate will have extensive experience in planning and executing catering events from managing, and training of the catering staff to meeting, planning, costing and bringing to fruition fabulous catering results.

The Director must have a passion for people and food. The Candidate will have a CAN DO!! attitude, strong communication skills, high energy and enthusiasm. The best candidate will enjoy current food trends, and have nutritional/wellness awareness. In addition, the ideal employee will have great skills: people, planning, organizational, computer, and customer service. Union experience will be considered an asset.

Job Qualifications:
  • at least 3 years of prior food service management experience, academic community experience a plus

  • proficiency with computers
  • culinary degree preferred but not required
  • union team and collective agreement experience
